Post #8 (Mainstream, with some Moderately Priced Cabins) Ocean Cruise Lines with Starlink Internet Service

As always, before booking on a ship & if you wish to rely on Starlink service, especially if internet speed/reliability is important for your travel plans, I strongly suggest that you double check (ask the cruise line and/or ask the cruise line via your cruise booking agent) your specific questions e.g. how this service is currently working out on your intended ship & how it is working out on your intended cruise route).
As of time of writing, some *mainstream (*having some moderately priced cabins) larger ocean cruise lines now said to have Starlink internet service on at least some (& sometimes all) of their ships include:
  • Holland America Line (HAL) – some
  • Royal Caribbean International ships – all
  • Celebrity Cruises ships – some; most
  • Norwegian Cruise Line ships – some
  • Carnival Cruise Line ships – some
  • AIDA Cruises ships – all now?  “all by October, 2023”
  • Princess Cruises ships – some/not sure if all; & they also utilize their MedallionNet WiFi system
  • P&O Cruises ships, UK & Australia ships – rollout of Starlink in progress
  • MSC Cruises – some/not sure if all
(Apologies if I have missed any).
The above list might not yet be complete nor completely current; the information is changing while the Starlink service is quite rapidly getting added to more ships this year.
The Starlink satellite coverage is reported to already span coastal waters of North America, some Caribbean islands, parts of South America, the Mediterranean, Western Europe, Japan, Australia, & New Zealand, & their global coverage may be growing fast during this year.
Maritime internet service performance with Starlink: some cruise passengers have been posting details (“ship, latency, & bandwidth”) of the service level they are experiencing onboard to a website board on the cruisecritic website.
