Post #3 Some Examples, Recent Costs of WiFi Service for Passengers on Cruise Ships

Here are some recent example cruise line fees (on 4-star and 5-star level of ships) for providing WiFi internet service on board (prices in USD). For ships in some cruise ship brands that have SpaceX Starlink service in place now. Such rates can be fluid and changing.

First please note that there are sometimes sale events/promotions (on most cruise lines) when WiFi rates are a discounted price & possibly even “free” (meaning included in your cruise ticket price). And recently for one cruise brand, a streaming WiFi level of service seems to have been included if one paid for an overall upgrade package, & included for suite guests booked in a more expensive area of a ship.

For one of these cruise line brands, w/o benefit of one of the foregoing sale events or included packages it appears some people are paying a starting price of USD$19.99 for ea. device per day (= the price *if 2 or more people have taken out a WiFi package) for high-speed WiFi. Prices may go up from there.

For ships in another cruise line brand (that is considered by most a more upscale/expensive experience), their high-speed internet & WiFi is available almost fleetwide (there are a few ship/itinerary exceptions). Unlimited surfing level service, adequate for browsing/surfing & emailing & text messages, appears to start at USD$20 per ea. person per day (and reportedly covering up to 4 devices per person). Prices can go up from there for more robust (streaming) level of service.
Important: These were some recently posted or discussed prices, but please do not forget your own double checking for the most current WiFi service price (and level of service) details at the time you might be making any cruise booking. Prices can vary during a sale event, for certain ships or certain itineraries, or depending whether you have advanced in their cruise line/brand loyalty club by recording more than one cruise completed with them.
