Post #17 Enhanced WiFi for Carnival Corporation Cruise Ships

Date

There are more cruise ship WiFi improvements in the works, because:

This week Carnival Corporation & plc (world’s largest cruise company, having several cruise line brands) announced a partnership with Neuron, formerly ESpace Networks, aiming “to accelerate onboard connectivity across its fleet of ships”. Neuron’s management platform is said to “further increase operational efficiencies and reliable internet access” on the ships. A full news release notes that Carnival has already deployed “Neuron 360” and “Neuron Grid”.

Per a comment on their website, folks at Neuron company think connectivity “should work anywhere, anytime, whether flying 35,000 feet above the ground or cruising thousands of miles across the ocean – with zero interruptions”. I like those possibilities for travelers.

I will now be looking for comments from cruise passengers & cruise vloggers (haven’t found any comments yet), especially if they were able to assess the before & after experience of the Neuron-enhanced connectivity on ships.

In July this year it was reported that eleven of the Carnival Cruise Line ships were already equipped with Starlink Maritime high-speed internet then (& I am reading that Neuron’s services added on would further enhance/improve connectivity). My guess to start with is that some very recent passengers on those same 11 Carnival Cruise Line ships that received Starlink Maritime service first, might have also experienced Starlink Maritime + Neuron services already. Those 11 ships *were said to be Carnival Celebration, Carnival Elation, Carnival Magic, Carnival Panorama, Carnival Pride, Carnival Sunrise, Carnival Sunshine, Carnival Valor, Carnival Venezia, Carnival Vista, & Mardi Gras.

[*If it’s one of your goals to experience a Neuron-enhanced Starlink Maritime service, then before booking on a ship I strongly suggest that you should double check (ask the cruise line and/or ask the cruise line via your cruise booking agent) your specific questions e.g. whether your intended ship has this service & whether the enhanced connectivity service is functioning well on that ship & on your intended itinerary route.]
