Post #5 More Summary RE Cruise Ship WiFi Service Costs

Date

For more context, some mainstream ocean cruising brand offerings that have mostly 4-star & 5-star level ships include (& as a Canadian I have cruised on most of these):  several of Carnival Corporation’s cruise line brands, Norwegian Cruise Line ships, two of Royal Caribbean Group’s cruise line brands, Disney Cruise Line ships, & MSC Cruises ships. Comparing WiFi service prices (provided by the cruise line) for these ships is not in my opinion the most simple & quick question to answer. They differ, they vary, they change…
And sometimes there is a promotion (a type of sale) when e.g. “unlimited internet minutes” might then be included in your cruise fare ticket price. Or booking in a particular class of cabin on the ship (a balcony cabin, a concierge level [with butler] cabin), or attaining a particular level in the cruise brand’s loyalty club (= loyalty perks for repeat customers) might grant you free internet or lower internet rates.
But let’s say you don’t get one of those happy advantages. Then the ship’s rates for adding WiFi service might quite quickly add up, starting around USD$80/each day for a 4 person family (20 x 4), during a 7 day (fairly standard length of) sailing itinerary (80 x 7).
I have found ocean cruise passengers to be a wonderfully creative lot. As often in life, some choices can be made regarding travel WiFi for ocean cruisers.
